The Story Behind VAVRA New York
Before the boutique, there was a lifelong passion for fashion, beauty, and discovery.
After a distinguished career at Dior Beauty as Vice President of Press and Celebrity Relations, founder Dianne Vavra spent decades immersed in craftsmanship, creativity, and timeless style. Her pursuit of exceptional vintage pieces—rich in history, character, and soul—ultimately inspired her next chapter.
In 2024, she opened VAVRA New York in Huntington, New York, creating a destination where rarity, glamour, and storytelling meet. What began as a personal passion evolved into a curated boutique known for its distinctive perspective and ever-changing collection of vintage jewelry, handbags, accessories, and objets of beauty.
A Curated Point of View
At VAVRA New York, curation defines everything. Each piece is chosen for its design, craftsmanship, provenance, and its power to make the wearer feel extraordinary. There are no mass-produced collections or endless multiples—only singular finds selected for their beauty and individuality.
We believe true luxury is personal. Vintage jewelry and accessories carry their own histories, allowing clients to express themselves through pieces that are meaningful and impossible to replicate. Sustainability is inherent in this philosophy, giving exceptional objects a second life while preserving their artistry.
VAVRA New York has been featured in PEOPLE, WWD, The New York Post, The Purist, and other leading publications. Through our boutique, digital platforms, and a growing community of over 70,000 Instagram followers, we connect collectors, tastemakers, and vintage enthusiasts who value the beauty of the uncommon.
Creative Director
New York native Dianne Vavra developed an appreciation for beauty and creativity at an early age, while roaming the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, located just blocks away from her apartment. Her love of fashion began quite simply – by observing the stylish women she passed on the street. While spending two decades globe-trotting as head of press and celebrity relations for Dior Beauty, Vavra managed to curate a collection of her own. Her eye for vintage and unique designer pieces made her a favorite of legendary street style photographer Bill Cunningham, who regularly featured her coveted looks in his column for The New York Times.
